After a wonderful night you will go down to breakfast because you have to regain strength for the day ahead. Today we set off to discover the treasures of Alcántara. We begin with the visit of the Convent of San Benito. It was built at the beginning of the fifteenth century during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs. It was the headquarters, administrative and religious center of the powerful Military Order of Alcántara. We continue to visit the Identity Center of the Orders of Chivalry. Located in the church of the Conventual de San Benito, it stands out for its majesty and architectural quality. Here, a review is given of the history of the most representative military orders. We end our visit at the Mirador de la Presa and La Cantera. Crossing the Roman Bridge we find a viewpoint with a cantilevered platform, with incredible views of the bridge, the Tagus River, the dam and the surroundings. La Cantera is about 3 km away. After lunch we say goodbye to Cabezuela del Valle and continue our route to the next Magical Town, Cepeda. With a population of around 300 inhabitants, Cepeda preserves much of its medieval structure, with cobblestone streets, stone houses and a parish church dating back to the sixteenth century.
